Meet the Rea Family

Four Generations in the Walla Walla Valley

Dennis and Laura Rea

After graduating from Washington State University with a degree in Agriculture, Dennis returned to the farm full time to help his father Harris Tremayne – or “H.T.” – and mother Helen Dent Rea. Since their marriage in 1979, Laura has played an increasingly important role in the family farming operation serving as an executive member and filling many of the daily job duties. Dennis and Laura are proud parents of Nathan, Sydney and Ryan – and most recently grandparents.

Nathan and Emily Rea

Nathan and Emily met in Washington, D.C. in 2005 while Nathan was working as a Congressional aide to Congressman Greg Walden (OR-02) in the U.S. House of Representatives. While in Washington, D.C., Nathan stayed well connected to his roots by working on federal agriculture and natural resources policies among other legislative issue topics. Nathan served in various capacities in the Congressman’s office ranging from providing constituent tours of the U.S. Capitol in his early years there to serving as Greg’s Legislative Director. Growing up on the farm was a big part of Nathan’s life as a child and now he returns to it with his wife Emily and young kids Gwenyth Isabelle and Harris Tyler. Nathan attended Washington State University where he studied Agriculture Business. Emily was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and attended Ohio University and the American School of Professional Psycology. As a Clinical Psychologist, Emily has found a good fit in the Walla Walla Valley serving youth and their families.

Sydney Rea

Sydney is currently living in Portland, Oregon and serving as a pediatric nurse. She attended the University of Portland where she studied nursing and has been working as a pediatric nurse since then. Sydney maintains a close relationship to the farm and farm life.

Ryan Rea

Ryan is the sixth family member in three generations to attend Washington State University. In his final stretch there, he is studying Agriculture Business and Economics. Throughout his childhood and during college, Ryan has played an important role in farm management.
